Tax Refund
Foreign travelers staying in Japan for less than 6 months do not have to pay consumption tax.
Please check the eligible products and the conditions for tax refunds, and bring the eligible products to the overseas customer counter on the 2nd floor, the in-store register at Umeda LOFT on the 6th floor (Umeda LOFT purchased products only, reception hours 10 a.m. ~ 7:30 p.m.), and the in-store register on the MUJI on the 7th floor (MUJI purchased items only) to receive a tax refund.
A fee of 1.55% of the tax-exclusive price of the taxable item you apply for will be charged.
* Items purchased on the 7th floor MUJI do not apply. If you return an item, the tax refund fee will not be refunded.

Qualification
1. Non-resident foreigners who have a "Temporary Visitor", "Diplomatic", or "Official" visa and have stayed in Japan for less than six months (proxy applications not accepted)
2. Non-resident Japanese nationals who can provide documented proof that they have been residing outside Japan for more than two consecutive years (proxy applications not accepted)

Application Procedure
Step 1
Purchasers are required to bring the eligible purchases to the overseas customer counter on the 2nd floor, the in-store register at Umeda Loft on the 6th floor (only for Umeda Loft purchases), and the in-store register at MUJI on the 7th floor (for MUJI purchased items only) on the day of purchase.
Step 2
The following four items are required.

*Crew members must have a crew landing permit.
*Non-resident Japanese nationals must provide proof that they have lived outside of Japan for at least two years (a copy of a residence certificate or family register).

*Corporate credit cards are not accepted.
Step 3
Consumption tax will be refunded after deducting the service charge (1.55%).
*Excludes Umeda Loft on the 6th floor and MUJI on the 7th floor.

When leaving Japan, be sure to present your purchased items and your passport to customs.
